Tally is a nutrition and training journal you talk to. You text it what you ate, what you lifted and what you weigh; it logs it, keeps your targets honest and tells you the one thing worth changing. Every number the coach uses is computed from your own history, never guessed.
The coach doesn’t have to be ours. Any agent you already run — Claude Code, Codex, whatever model you pay for — can be your coach, on your tokens. It gets exactly what our coach gets: the same context, the same tools, the same journal your phone shows.
Get it
The app is free. Our coach is $29.99 a month after a free week; your own agent costs nothing.
Connect your agent
Make an empty folder, open it in Claude Code (or any coding agent), and paste this:
Set up Tally, my nutrition and training tracker, in this folder so you can be my coach.
1. Install the CLI: mkdir -p ~/.local/bin && curl -fsSL https://tally-api-nine.vercel.app/api/cli -o ~/.local/bin/tally && chmod +x ~/.local/bin/tally (it needs Node 20+; make sure ~/.local/bin is on PATH).
2. Sign me in: run `tally login --phone <my number>` (ask me for the number with country code), then ask me for the six-digit code I get texted and run `tally login --code <code>`.
3. Run `tally init .` — it writes CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md and COACH.md here — then read them and follow them from now on.It installs the CLI, signs you in with a texted code, and writes the instructions your agent needs. From then on, talk to it like a coach.
Or just the CLI
curl -fsSL https://tally-api-nine.vercel.app/api/cli -o ~/.local/bin/tally && chmod +x ~/.local/bin/tallytally login, then tally today, tally context, tally run log_food …. tally help lists everything. Node 20 or newer.
Your data
Your account is your phone number; nothing else is asked for. The journal is yours to read and write in full at any time (tally journal), and only your signed-in devices and agents can see it.
