Introduction
VibeCheck (“we”, “our”, “us”) lets you find out which of your photos works best by having other people rate them. This policy explains what information the app handles and why. By using VibeCheck, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
Phone number: You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code sent by text. Your number identifies your account and is never shown to other people. We use Twilio to deliver the code.
Profile: Your birthday, used only to confirm you are 18 or older. Other people never see it.
Photos you test: Photos you choose to test are stored on our servers and shown, without your name or number, to other VibeCheck users who vote on them. They are removed when you delete the test or your account.
Votes and notes: The Lighting, Composition and Vibe ratings, quick notes and written notes you give are stored and shown to the photo’s owner without your name or number. Votes you give also raise your Karma.
Purchases: If you buy credits, Apple handles payment. We receive only a signed record of the purchase to add the credits to your account.
Notifications: If you allow them, we store a device token so we can tell you when your results are in.
How We Use Information
To run tests, show photos to the right raters, keep your credits, notify you about results and keep the community safe. We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.
How We Share Information
Your photos are shown to other VibeCheck users as part of a test. Otherwise we share data only with the service providers needed to run VibeCheck: Twilio (sign-in codes), Neon (database hosting), Vercel (server and photo hosting) and Apple (purchases and notifications).
We do not sell your personal information.
Safety
Anyone can report a photo while rating. Reported photos stop appearing for the reporter right away and are taken down for everyone after several reports. Abusive feedback notes are refused before they send, and any feedback you receive can be reported, which also blocks that rater. Email us to report anything that needs faster attention.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete Account in the app removes your account, photos, ratings and credits immediately. You can also email us to delete it for you.
Children
VibeCheck isn’t for anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have, we’ll delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
