Whereabouts (“we”, “our”, “us”) keeps a private record of which states and countries you spend your days in. This policy explains what the app does with your information. By using Whereabouts, you agree to this policy.
Everything Stays on Your Device
Whereabouts records your location and turns it into day counts entirely on your iPhone. Your location history, day counts, and travel timeline are stored only on your device. We don’t upload, store, or view any of it. There are no accounts, no servers, and no third-party analytics.
Information the App Uses
Location: With your permission, Whereabouts monitors your location in the background to determine which state or country you’re in each day. Locations are converted to a state or country using Apple’s geocoding service and saved only on your device.
Diagnostics: Apple may share standard, anonymized crash reports and usage statistics with us if you have opted in through iOS settings.
How We Share Information
We have nothing to share. Your location history never reaches our servers — we don’t have servers.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data Retention and Export
Your records stay on your device until you delete the app, which removes everything it stored. You can export your own data as a CSV at any time from Settings inside the app.
Your Rights
You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. Because we don’t hold your data, there’s nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our end.

Whereabouts helps you keep records, but it isn’t a tax advisor. Residency rules vary by jurisdiction — consult a professional for advice about your situation.
Children
Whereabouts isn’t for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect data from children. If we learn we have, we’ll delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. We’ll update the “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice.
